| 23 | 23 | That subsection (e) of section 46b-38b of the general statutes be 1 | |
| 24 | 24 | amended to define "expeditiously" in subdivision (5), and to provide 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | that by signing a certification of helpfulness, an officer or agency is not 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | making a determination of eligibility for a visa, but is instead certifying 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | that the person or his or her child is a victim of one of the crimes 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | eligible for U Nonimmigrant Status and to provide that a current or 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | ongoing investigation, filing of charges, prosecution or conviction are 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | not required for a victim to request such certification. 8 | |
