14	19		AN ACT PROVIDING IMMUNITY FROM CIVIL LIABILITY TO A
15	20		PHYSICIAN WHO ACCOMP ANIES AND ASSISTS A STATE,
16	21		REGIONAL OR MUNICIPA L SWAT TEAM.
17	22		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
18	23		Assembly convened:

20	25		Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) Any person licensed to 1
21	26		practice medicine and surgery under the provisions of chapter 370 of 2
22	27		the general statutes, who, voluntarily and gratuitously and other than 3
23	28		in the course of such person's employment or practice, renders 4
24	29		emergency medical assistance in connection with the law enforcement 5
25	30		duties of a state, regional or municipal special weapons and tactics 6
26	31		team, shall not be liable to any person assisted for civil damages for 7
27	32		any personal injuries that result from acts or omissions by such 8
28		-	licensed person in rendering emergency medical assistance, which 9
29		-	may constitute ordinary negligence. The immunity provided in this 10
30		-	section shall not apply to acts or omissions constituting gross, wilful or 11
31		-	wanton negligence. 12
