25 | 24 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) (a) The Military 1 |

26 | 25 | | Department shall establish, within available appropriations, a cyber 2 |
---|
27 | 26 | | technology competition for students who are attending a secondary 3 |
---|
28 | 27 | | school program of education in this state. Such cyber technology 4 |
---|
29 | 28 | | competition shall be held for the purpose of encouraging such students 5 |
---|
30 | 29 | | to collaborate with government agencies and private industry to 6 |
---|
31 | 30 | | strengthen and secure information systems. Such cyber technology 7 |
---|
32 | 31 | | competition shall be held each year at the State Armory in Hartford. 8 |
---|
33 | 32 | | The Military Department shall promote such cyber technology 9 |
---|
34 | 33 | | competition with outreach to school districts in this state. 10 |
---|
35 | 34 | | (b) The Military Department shall establish rules and guidelines for 11 |
---|
36 | 35 | | the implementation of the cyber technology competition described in 12 |
---|
37 | 36 | | subsection (a) of this act. Such rules and guidelines shall be posted 13 |
---|
