AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CYBER TECHNOLOGY C OMPETITION 
FOR CERTAIN STUDENTS .  
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) (a) The Military 1 
Department shall establish, within available appropriations, a cyber 2 
technology competition for students who are attending a secondary 3 
school program of education in this state. Such cyber technology 4 
competition shall be held for the purpose of encouraging such students 5 
to collaborate with government agencies and private industry to 6 
strengthen and secure information systems. Such cyber technology 7 
competition shall be held each year at the State Armory in Hartford. 8 
The Military Department shall promote such cyber technology 9 
competition with outreach to school districts in this state. 10 
(b) The Military Department shall establish rules and guidelines for 11 
the implementation of the cyber technology competition described in 12 
subsection (a) of this act. Such rules and guidelines shall be posted 13 
electronically on the department's Internet web site. 14  Raised Bill No. 953

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:
