Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Section 15-74b of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage): 2 (a) No public service company shall construct or maintain any 3 overhead line or facility within the limits of a clear zone. 4 (b) (1) Immediately upon July 6, 1971, the executive director shall 5 establish clear zones, in accordance with regulations adopted by the 6 executive director, for all public airport runways, and shall establish a 7 list of priorities for the abatement or correction of encroachments 8 thereon by public service companies. (2) Subject to the availability of 9 funds, the executive director shall, from time to time, order the 10 relocation, removal or such other appropriate corrective action as the 11 executive director deems necessary to abate or correct such 12 encroachments on clear zones. 13 (c) Where overhead lines already exist within the limits of an 14 Raised Bill No. 987 LCO 5001 {\\PRDFS1\SCOUSERS\FORZANOF\WS\2019SB-00987- R01-SB.docx } 2 of 2 established clear zone, the executive director shall reimburse the 15 owner public service company for the cost of relocation, removal or 16 other corrective measures approved by the executive director.
