2119 AN ACT ALLOWING MUNI CIPALITIES TO COVER THE PAY GAP FO R
2220 DISABLED POLICE OFFICERS.
2321 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2624 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Any municipality may 1
2725 establish a program to pay a municipal police officer who is injured 2
2826 and disabled in the performance of the officer's duties to the extent the 3
2927 officer is unable to perform the officer's duties, an amount that is the 4
3028 difference between the pay the officer would have received if the 5
3129 officer could continue to perform his or her duties and the amount the 6
3230 officer is receiving from workers' compensation benefits under chapter 7
3331 568 of the general statutes and any other benefits. The municipality 8
3432 may pay such amount until the officer reaches the age of sixty-five. 9
3533 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
