Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Any municipality may 1 establish a program to pay a municipal police officer who is injured 2 and disabled in the performance of the officer's duties to the extent the 3 officer is unable to perform the officer's duties, an amount that is the 4 difference between the pay the officer would have received if the 5 officer could continue to perform his or her duties and the amount the 6 officer is receiving from workers' compensation benefits under chapter 7 568 of the general statutes and any other benefits.
