2019 AN ACT CONCERNING LO NG-TERM CARE SERVICES.
2120 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2423 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Commissioner of Social 1
2524 Services shall conduct a study of the state's long-term care needs to 2
2625 determine whether existing programs and strategies are sufficient. 3
2726 (b) The study shall include, but need not be limited to: (1) For 4
2827 calendar year 2018, the number of state residents who were sixty-five 5
2928 years of age or older; (2) for calendar year 2022, the projected number 6
3029 of state residents who will be sixty-five years of age or older; (3) for 7
3130 calendar year 2018, the number of state residents with disabilities who 8
3231 required long-term care; (4) for calendar year 2022, the projected 9
3332 number of state residents with disabilities who will require long-term 10
3433 care; (5) for calendar years 2013 to 2018, inclusive, the number of 11
3534 residents removed from institutionalized settings to home and 12
3635 community-based settings under the Money Follows the Person 13
3736 demonstration project established pursuant to section 17b-369 of the 14
3837 general statutes; (6) for calendar years 2013 to 2018, inclusive, the 15
3938 savings realized in state expenditures on long-term care related to the 16 Raised Bill No. 1065

4644 Money Follows the Person demonstration project; and (7) for calendar 17
4745 year 2022, the projected number of persons who will require long-term 18

4947 (c) Not later than July 1, 2020, the Commissioner of Social Services, 20
5048 in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general 21
5149 statutes, shall report the results of the study done pursuant to 22
5250 subsections (a) and (b) of this section to the joint standing committees 23
5351 of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 24
5452 aging and human s ervices. Such report may include the 25
5553 commissioner's recommendations for addressing identified gaps in the 26
5654 provision of long-term care and improving access to such long-term 27
5755 care. 28
5856 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
