2222 AN ACT CONCERNING SP ECIAL REGISTRATION MARKER PLATES
2323 FOR VETERANS WHO SER VED IN PERIODS OF WAR.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2727 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2021) (a) The Commissioner of 1
2828 Motor Vehicles, at the request of any veteran, as defined in section 27-2
2929 103 of the general statutes, shall issue, without charge, special 3
3030 registration marker plates to indicate service during a period of war, as 4
3131 defined in 38 USC 101, as amended from time to time. Such plates shall 5
3232 bear the words "(Name of War) Veteran" and shall bear the colors of the 6
3333 flag of the country where such war was engaged at the top of the 7
3434 registration marker plate. No use shall be made of such plates except as 8
3535 official registration marker plates. 9
3636 (b) The request of any veteran shall be accompanied by proof from 10
3737 the United States Department of Veterans Affairs that such person 11
3838 served in the armed forces during such period of war. 12
3939 (c) The surviving spouse of a veteran issued such special registration 13
4040 marker plates may retain any such plates for his or her lifetime or until 14
