2222 AN ACT CONCERNING LI CENSED OCCUPATIONS O F MILITARY

2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2525 Assembly convened:

2727 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2020) (a) Except as otherwise 1
2828 provided in the general statutes, a military spouse who accompanies his 2
2929 or her spouse who is a military member assigned to a base in this state 3
3030 and who holds a current occupational license in another state may 4
3131 engage in the occupation for which the military spouse is licensed, 5
3232 provided such military spouse presents a copy of his or her 6
3333 identification card and evidence satisfactory to the department having 7
3434 jurisdiction over such license that the military spouse (1) is currently 8
3535 licensed by another state whose standards, in the opinion of the 9
3636 department, are substantially similar to, or higher than, those of this 10
3737 state, (2) is in good standing, (3) is not the subject of any pending 11
3838 professional disciplinary action, (4) is not the subject of a pending, 12
3939 unresolved complaint, and (5) is presently residing in this state. 13
4040 (b) The state agency having jurisdiction of such license shall verify 14

4747 standing. The military spouse's out-of-state license shall be recognized 16
4848 for the duration of the military member's assignment in this state or for 17
4949 three years, whichever is less. 18
5050 (c) For the purpose of this section, "military spouse" means a person 19
5151 married to an active duty member of the armed forces, as defined in 20
5252 section 27-103 of the general statutes.21
