24 | 24 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |
---|
25 | 25 | | Assembly convened: |

27 | 27 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2020) (a) Except as otherwise 1 |
---|
28 | 28 | | provided in the general statutes, a military spouse who accompanies his 2 |
---|
29 | 29 | | or her spouse who is a military member assigned to a base in this state 3 |
---|
30 | 30 | | and who holds a current occupational license in another state may 4 |
---|
31 | 31 | | engage in the occupation for which the military spouse is licensed, 5 |
---|
32 | 32 | | provided such military spouse presents a copy of his or her 6 |
---|
33 | 33 | | identification card and evidence satisfactory to the department having 7 |
---|
34 | 34 | | jurisdiction over such license that the military spouse (1) is currently 8 |
---|
35 | 35 | | licensed by another state whose standards, in the opinion of the 9 |
---|
36 | 36 | | department, are substantially similar to, or higher than, those of this 10 |
---|
37 | 37 | | state, (2) is in good standing, (3) is not the subject of any pending 11 |
---|
38 | 38 | | professional disciplinary action, (4) is not the subject of a pending, 12 |
---|
39 | 39 | | unresolved complaint, and (5) is presently residing in this state. 13 |
---|
40 | 40 | | (b) The state agency having jurisdiction of such license shall verify 14 |
---|
41 | 41 | | the military spouse's license in such other state and that it is in good 15 Raised Bill No. 5398 |

47 | 47 | | standing. The military spouse's out-of-state license shall be recognized 16 |
---|
48 | 48 | | for the duration of the military member's assignment in this state or for 17 |
---|
49 | 49 | | three years, whichever is less. 18 |
---|
50 | 50 | | (c) For the purpose of this section, "military spouse" means a person 19 |
---|
51 | 51 | | married to an active duty member of the armed forces, as defined in 20 |
---|
52 | 52 | | section 27-103 of the general statutes.21 |
