2121 AN ACT REQUIRING A STUDY OF THE FEASIBILITY OF
2222 ESTABLISHING A VIRTUAL SCHOOL.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 Section 1. (Effective from passage) The State Board of Education shall 1
2727 study the feasibility of establishing a virtual school for elementary and 2
2828 secondary education to allow children of active duty members of the 3
2929 armed forces, as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes, to 4
3030 transition from a school district located in another state to this state. 5
3131 Such study shall include, but not be limited to, whether a virtual school 6
3232 for elementary and secondary education would provide continuity of 7
3333 such children's education when transferring to a school district in this 8
3434 state, the type of curricula such children may access and whether credits 9
3535 earned by such children attending a virtual school in another state may 10
3636 be accepted by a school district in this state. Not later than January 1, 11
3737 2021, the State Board of Education shall submit a report, in accordance 12
3838 with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, of the 13
3939 findings of such study to the joint standing committees of the General 14
4040 Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education and 15
