| 24 | 24 | | Assembly convened: |

| 26 | 26 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) The State Board of Education shall 1 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | study the feasibility of establishing a virtual school for elementary and 2 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | secondary education to allow children of active duty members of the 3 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | armed forces, as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes, to 4 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | transition from a school district located in another state to this state. 5 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Such study shall include, but not be limited to, whether a virtual school 6 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | for elementary and secondary education would provide continuity of 7 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | such children's education when transferring to a school district in this 8 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | state, the type of curricula such children may access and whether credits 9 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | earned by such children attending a virtual school in another state may 10 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | be accepted by a school district in this state. Not later than January 1, 11 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 2021, the State Board of Education shall submit a report, in accordance 12 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, of the 13 |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | findings of such study to the joint standing committees of the General 14 |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education and 15 |
|---|
