AN ACT REMOVING OBSTACLES TO RENTAL RELIEF FOR SENIOR
CITIZENS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (a) of section 12-170f of the general statutes be 1
amended to eliminate obstacles to rental relief for senior citizens and 2
persons with disabilities by (1) exempting a renter from a notarization 3
requirement if a landlord verification for the same property rental by 4
the same renter has been previously notarized, and (2) not delaying 5
submission of the rental relief application of an otherwise qualified 6
renter to the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management if the 7
renter (A) fails to meet a deadline for notarizing such landlord 8
verification, or (B) fails to meet a deadline for submission because of 9
verifiable illness or incapacitation. 10
Statement of Purpose:
To remove impediments to timely financial relief for senior citizens and
persons with disabilities.
