| 23 | 23 | That the general statutes be amended to establish a pilot program to 1 | |
| 24 | 24 | provide matching funding, within available resources, to local and 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | regional boards of education for the development of functional outdoor 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | learning spaces or outdoor learning initiatives designed to (1) provide 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | appropriate social distancing or increasing social distancing to prevent 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | the spread of illness, (2) promote the social and emotional well-being of 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | students, (3) promote applied or hands-on learning, and (4) supplement 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | existing traditional indoor learning spaces, except that any such outdoor 8 | |
| 31 | 31 | learning initiative developed by the board of education for an alliance 9 | |
| 32 | 32 | district shall be entitled to a waiver of up to seventy-five per cent of any 10 | |
| 33 | 33 | fund-matching requirement under the pilot program. 11 | |
