AN ACT EXTENDING TUITION WAIVERS TO THE PARENTS OF A 
PERSON KILLED IN ACTION WHILE PERFORMING ACTIVE MILITARY 
DUTY. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That sections 10a-77, 10a-99 and 10a-105 of the general statutes be 1 
amended to require the Board of Regents for Higher Education and the 2 
Board of Trustees of The University of Connecticut to waive the 3 
payment of tuition at an institution of higher education under each 4 
board's governance for any resident of the state whose child was killed 5 
in action while performing active military duty with the armed forces of 6 
the United States on or after September 11, 2001. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide a tuition waiver at public institutions of higher education for 
the parents of a person killed in action while performing active military 
duty with the armed forces of the United States.
