AN ACT REQUIRING PROMPT PAYMENT OF REIMBURSEMENTS TO
HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require health carriers, 1
independent practice associations and physician hospital organizations 2
to promptly reimburse health care providers, and provide that a health 3
care provider shall be entitled to interest if a health carrier, independent 4
practice association or physician hospital organization fails to promptly 5
reimburse the health care provider. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To require health carriers, independent practice associations and
physician hospital organizations to promptly reimburse health care
providers, and provide that a health care provider shall be entitled to
interest if a health carrier, independent practice association or physician
hospital organization fails to promptly reimburse the health care
provider.
