AN ACT REQUIRING A REPORT ON ADVERSE REACTIONS TO IMMUNIZATIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of 1 Public Health to submit an annual report regarding adverse reactions to 2 immunizations, which shall include, but need not be limited to, (1) the 3 total number of adverse reactions reported during the previous calendar 4 year, (2) reported adverse reactions, disaggregated by immunization 5 type, lot number and age of recipient, (3) the total number and cost of 6 emergency department visits related to the reported adverse reactions, 7 (4) the total number of hospitalizations, permanent disabilities and 8 deaths related to the reported adverse reactions, and (5) a summary of 9 activities undertaken by the Department of Public Health to support the 10 state filing for compensation pursuant to the National Childhood 11 Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, 42 USC 300aa-1 et seq. Such report shall be 12 posted on the department's Internet web site and shall be provided to 13 all health care practitioners who administer immunizations in the state. 14 Proposed Bill No. 5714 LCO No. 1759 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require the Department of Public Health to submit an annual report regarding adverse reactions to immunizations in the state.
