1919 AN ACT CONCERNING SIGNATURES ON ABSENTEE VOTING

2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to require that, 1
2525 in the case of any person who is subject to conservatorship by the 2
2626 Probate Court or has surrendered decision-making authority due to 3
2727 mental incapacity, the signature of such person on an application for an 4
2828 absentee ballot or on the outer envelope of an absentee ballot set shall 5
2929 be cosigned by the individual serving as conservator for such person, as 6
3030 agent under a power of attorney for such person or in a substantially 7
3131 similar decision-making role. 8
3232 Statement of Purpose:
3333 To require, in the case of any person who is subject to a conservatorship
3434 or has surrendered decision-making authority due to mental incapacity,
3535 that the individual serving as conservator or other agent of such person
3636 cosign certain absentee voting materials.
