22 | 22 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
23 | 23 | Assembly convened: | |

25 | 25 | That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the state Board of 1 | |
26 | 26 | Education to amend the definition of "excused absence" to include 2 | |
27 | 27 | illness or recovery concerning mental health; (2) increase access to 3 | |
28 | 28 | outpatient mental health treatment by juveniles by allowing any minor 4 | |
29 | 29 | thirteen years of age or older to request and receive such treatment 5 | |
30 | 30 | without the consent of the minor's parent or guardian; and (3) permit 6 | |
31 | 31 | school districts to create, in consultation with the Department of Mental 7 | |
32 | 32 | Health and Addiction Services, evidence-based student mental health 8 | |
33 | 33 | screening programs appropriate for each grade and age level. 9 | |
