2121 AN ACT INCREASING AWARENESS OF AVAILABLE MENTAL
2222 HEALTH SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR
2323 FAMILIES.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2525 Assembly convened:

2727 That chapter 170 of the general statutes be amended to require local 1
2828 and regional boards of education to (1) annually provide information to 2
2929 students in grades six to twelve, inclusive, and the parents and 3
3030 guardians of such students, of the availability of mental health 4
3131 resources, services and crisis counseling, such as the United Way of 5
3232 Connecticut 2-1-1 Infoline program, and (2) print information regarding 6
3333 the suicide prevention hotline on student identification cards. 7
3434 Statement of Purpose:
3535 To assist students and their families in addressing issues concerning
3636 mental health and anxiety that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19
3737 pandemic by requiring boards of education to provide information
3838 relating to mental health services and resources.
