AN ACT INCREASING AWARENESS OF AVAILABLE MENTAL 
HEALTH SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR 
FAMILIES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That chapter 170 of the general statutes be amended to require local 1 
and regional boards of education to (1) annually provide information to 2 
students in grades six to twelve, inclusive, and the parents and 3 
guardians of such students, of the availability of mental health 4 
resources, services and crisis counseling, such as the United Way of 5 
Connecticut 2-1-1 Infoline program, and (2) print information regarding 6 
the suicide prevention hotline on student identification cards. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To assist students and their families in addressing issues concerning 
mental health and anxiety that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 
pandemic by requiring boards of education to provide information 
relating to mental health services and resources.
