AN ACT CONCERNING CREDITS OR REIMBURSEMENTS TO CUSTOMERS OF ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES FOLLOWING SERVICE OUTAGES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 16-32m of the general statutes be amended to entitle 1 customers of electric distribution companies to a credit or 2 reimbursement, in an amount not to exceed two hundred dollars which 3 cannot be a justification for any rate increase, for food, medicine or other 4 perishable items that expire or spoil due to a service outage lasting more 5 than forty-eight hours. 6 Statement of Purpose: To entitle customers of electric distribution companies to a credit or reimbursement for food, medicine or other perishable items due to a service outage lasting more than forty-eight hours.
