AN ACT CONCERNING AN OPPORTUNITY TO CURE FOR
ABSENTEE BALLOTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to provide that, 1
in the case of a returned absentee ballot with an inner envelope that does 2
not satisfy the signature requirement for such envelope, the registrars of 3
voters shall attempt to contact the elector who returned such absentee 4
ballot for the purpose of curing such defect so that such absentee ballot 5
may be legally cast. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To require local election officials to notify an elector in the event of a
signature defect with such elector's returned absentee ballot so that such
elector can cure such defect and such ballot may be cast.
