LCO No. 3530 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 6591 January Session, 2021 LCO No. 3530 Referred to Committee on INSURANCE AND REAL ESTATE Introduced by: (INS) AN ACT REQUIRING THE OFFICE OF HEALTH STRATEGY TO STUDY HOME HEALTH CARE FOR VETERANS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) For the purposes of this section: 1 (1) "Office of Health Strategy" means the Office of Health Strategy 2 established under section 19a-754a of the general statutes; and 3 (2) "Veteran" has the same meaning as provided in section 27-103 of 4 the general statutes. 5 (b) The Office of Health Strategy shall, within available 6 appropriations: 7 (1) Study methods to improve home health care for veterans in this 8 state, including, but not limited to, methods to increase access to, 9 provide greater coverage for and improve the quality of home health 10 care for veterans in this state; and 11 (2) Develop recommendations to improve home health care for 12 veterans in this state. 13 Raised Bill No. 6591 LCO No. 3530 2 of 2 (c) Not later than January 1, 2022, the Office of Health Strategy shall 14 submit a report, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, 15 to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 16 cognizance of matters relating to insurance. Such report shall contain 17 the results of the study conducted, and recommendations developed, by 18 the Office of Health Strategy pursuant to subsection (b) of this section. 19 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To require the Office of Health Strategy to: (1) Study methods, and develop recommendations, to improve home health care for veterans in this state; and (2) submit a report concerning home health care for veterans to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance.
