AN ACT CONCERNING GO VERNMENT ADMINISTRAT ION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 2-35a of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2021): 2
The joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 3
cognizance of matters relating to government administration, 4
organization and reorganization shall be charged with the duty and 5
responsibility of overseeing all government organization and 6
reorganization and in particular any transfer, allocation or consolidation 7
of any state department or agency. The committee shall [have 8
responsibility] be responsible for continuing review of the organization 9
and reorganization of state departments and agencies and may from 10
time to time make recommendations to the General Assembly with 11
regard to government organization and reorganization. 12
Sec. 2. Section 4-38j of the general statutes is repealed and the 13
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2021): 14 Raised Bill No. 6649

The Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and each 15
department head, as defined [by] in section 4-5, shall (1) submit to the 16
joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 17
matters relating to government administration, organization and 18
reorganization upon request (A) a report [upon request,] on the progress 19
and implementation of reorganization, and [upon request shall also 20
furnish to the committee] (B) any information concerning 21
reorganization, or (2) appear before the committee to provide such 22
information as may be determined by the chairpersons of said 23
committee. 24
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
Section 1 October 1, 2021 2-35a
Sec. 2 October 1, 2021 4-38j

To make technical changes to provisions concerning government
administration.
