AN ACT CONCERNING LONG -TERM CARE INSURANCE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to: (1) Cap certain 1 long-term care insurance premium rate increases at the rate of inflation 2 for long-term care insurance policies for three years; (2) require an 3 insurer that purchases a group long-term care insurance policy from 4 another insurer to honor the contractual obligations of the transferring 5 insurer to the consumer as determined on the date that the transferring 6 insurer delivered or issued such policy to the consumer; and (3) 7 establish the Consumer Advocacy Group Regarding Long-Term Care 8 Insurance to advise the General Assembly regarding long-term care 9 insurance. 10 Statement of Purpose: To: (1) Cap certain long-term care insurance premium rate increases at the rate of inflation for long-term care insurance policies for three years; (2) require an insurer that purchases a group long-term care insurance policy from another insurer to honor the contractual obligations of the transferring insurer to the consumer as determined on the date that the transferring insurer delivered or issued such policy to the consumer; Proposed Bill No. 21 LCO No. 97 2 of 2 and (3) establish the Consumer Advocacy Group Regarding Long-Term Care Insurance to advise the General Assembly regarding long-term care insurance.
