AN ACT ELIMINATING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FOR RESIDENTS WHO ABANDON STATE RESIDENCY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to (1) establish a 1 rebuttable presumption that persons absent from the state for more than 2 thirty days have abandoned state residency for the purpose of public 3 assistance, and (2) eliminate public assistance for such persons. 4 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit public assistance for persons who leave the state for more than thirty days.
