AN ACT CONCERNING PERFLUOROALKYL AND
POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the use of a class B 1
firefighting foam that contains an intentionally added perfluoroalkyl or 2
polyfluoroalkyl substance in any amount for any purpose and require 3
the Department of Public Health to develop and implement a plan for 4
(1) testing water supply sources, water supplies and bottled water for 5
contamination by perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, and 6
(2) educating the public regarding the potential risks of drinking water 7
that has been contaminated by such substances. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To limit the public's exposure to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl
substances.
