AN ACT PROVIDING FINANCIAL RELIEF TO ALLIANCE DISTRICTS
FOR THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROVISION OF SPECIAL
EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That sections 10-76d and 10-76g of the general statutes be amended 1
to require that a local or regional board of education for a town 2
designated as an alliance district not be responsible for any costs 3
associated with the provision of special education and related services 4
to a student who moves into and enrolls in such alliance district during 5
the school year, and to require that such board not be responsible for 6
any costs associated with the provision of special education and related 7
services to any student who moves out of and is no longer enrolled in 8
such alliance district during the school year. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To provide financial relief to boards of education for alliance districts
relating to the costs associated with the provision of special education.
