1818 AN ACT CONCERNING REAL ESTATE CLOSINGS AND MORTGAGE
1919 LOAN TRANSACTIONS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Permit persons other 1
2424 than attorneys admitted in this state to represent the legal interests of 2
2525 parties to real estate closings concerning real property in this state; and 3
2626 (2) permit mortgage lenders to induce or require prospective 4
2727 mortgagors to use preferred attorneys or law firms to represent such 5
2828 mortgagors in proposed mortgage loan transactions concerning real 6
2929 property in this state. 7
3030 Statement of Purpose:
3131 To: (1) Permit persons other than attorneys admitted in this state to
3232 represent the legal interests of parties to real estate closings concerning
3333 real property in this state; and (2) permit mortgage lenders to induce or
3434 require prospective mortgagors to use preferred attorneys or law firms
3535 to represent such mortgagors in proposed mortgage loan transactions
3636 concerning real property in this state.
