22-AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF THE INCLUSION OF
23-QUESTIONS RELATING T O VETERAN STATUS ON STATE AGEN CY
24-FORMS.
18+AN ACT REQUIRING ALL STATE AGENCIES TO INCLUDE CERTAIN
19+QUESTIONS RELATING TO VETERAN STATUS ON STATE FORMS.
2520 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

28-Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioners of Veteran 1
29-Affairs and Administrative Services shall conduct a study of the utility 2
30-of including questions relating to veteran status, that may assist in the 3
31-identification of and the offering of assistance to veterans, on state 4
32-agency forms that are to be completed by members of the public. The 5
33-commissioners shall jointly report, in accordance with the provisions of 6
34-section 11-4a of the general statutes, the findings of such study to the 7
35-joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 8
36-matters relating to military and veterans' affairs on or before January 1, 9
37-2022. 10
38-This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
39-sections:

23+That the general statutes be amended to require all state agencies to 1
24+include the questions: "Have you served in the military?" and "Do you 2
25+need any assistance?" on state forms. If the second question is answered 3
26+in the affirmative, the state agency shall refer the answering individual 4
27+to the Department of Veterans Affairs and the federal Department of 5
28+Veterans Affairs. 6
