1818 AN ACT CONCERNING MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS COMMITTED BY
1919 JUVENILES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to provide that the Superior 1
2424 Court may issue an order to detain a child arrested for larceny of a motor 2
2525 vehicle in a detention center pending subsequent court hearings and a 3
2626 disposition if the court finds that there is probable cause to believe that 4
2727 the child has committed the acts alleged, notwithstanding the additional 5
2828 factors contained in subsection (e) of section 46b-133 of the general 6
2929 statutes; to provide that a court may consider the factors in said 7
3030 subsection (e) as a reason to release the child in its discretion, with or 8
3131 without conditions; to require the automatic transfer from the docket for 9
3232 juvenile matters to the regular criminal docket of the Superior Court the 10
3333 case of any child charged with larceny that involves a motor vehicle; and 11
3434 to provide that the court, in its discretion, may return the case back to 12
3535 juvenile court unless the child has two or more prior adjudications or 13
