AN ACT CONCERNING AUTO THEFTS BY JUVENILE OFFENDERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require the automatic 1 transfer to adult court any case in which a child is arrested for larceny 2 of a motor vehicle; and that said child shall be detained pursuant to a 3 court order if the court finds probable cause to believe that the child 4 committed the acts alleged unless the court exercises its discretion to 5 release the child, with or without conditions, pending subsequent court 6 hearings or a disposition. 7 Statement of Purpose: To provide law enforcement with necessary tools to address the rash of auto thefts being committed by juvenile offenders.
