1818 AN ACT CONCERNING VICTIM ADVOCACY.
1919 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2020 Assembly convened:

2222 That the general statutes be amended to provide that any plea deal 1
2323 involving a class A or B felony per the initial police charge shall require 2
2424 approval by the victim, or the case shall go to trial, and that notice with 3
2525 an opportunity to sign a waiver be given to victims to inform them of 4
2626 their right to speak at a plea deal hearing. 5
2727 Statement of Purpose:
2828 To protect victim's rights and ensure that they are aware of their rights
2929 to be heard concerning plea deals.
