AN ACT CONCERNING VICTIM ADVOCACY. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to provide that any plea deal 1 
involving a class A or B felony per the initial police charge shall require 2 
approval by the victim, or the case shall go to trial, and that notice with 3 
an opportunity to sign a waiver be given to victims to inform them of 4 
their right to speak at a plea deal hearing. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To protect victim's rights and ensure that they are aware of their rights 
to be heard concerning plea deals.
