AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF ENFORCEMENT JURISDICTION ON BODIES OF WATER AND ADJACENT ROADWAYS COVERING MORE THAN ONE JURISDICTION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, in 1 conjunction with the Department of Emergency Services and Public 2 Protection, study how to effectively enforce state statutes and 3 regulations on bodies of water and adjacent roadways that cover more 4 than one jurisdiction, including Beach Pond in Voluntown and its 5 surrounding roadways, and make recommendations to the General 6 Assembly regarding any necessary positions to be created, allocations 7 of funding to be adjusted and changes to agency jurisdiction necessary 8 to accomplish such effective enforcement. 9 Statement of Purpose: To maintain public safety in areas that are covered by more than one jurisdiction, including Beach Pond in Voluntown.
