AN ACT CONCERNING ABSENTEE BALLOTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to (1) specify that 1 absentee ballots may only be counted on the day of an election, (2) 2 provide consistency across all municipalities as to pre-election day 3 processing of absentee ballots, and (3) allow the registrars of voters to 4 contact electors for the purpose of curing unsigned absentee ballot 5 envelopes. 6 Statement of Purpose: To specify that absentee ballots may only be counted on election day, provide consistency among towns as to pre-election processing of such ballots and allow for the curing of unsigned absentee ballot envelopes.
