1919 AN ACT CONCERNING PHOTO IDENTIFICATION FOR VOTING
2020 PURPOSES.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That the general statutes be amended to (1) provide that, prior to 1
2525 receiving and being able to cast a ballot at the polling place, each elector 2
2626 shall present to the official checker or checkers a current and valid photo 3
2727 identification, which identification clearly displays such elector's name 4
2828 and residential address, and (2) establish a program for waiving the fee 5
2929 associated with obtaining, for voting purposes, a motor vehicle 6
3030 operator's license, identity card or other government-issued form of 7
3131 photo identification. 8
3232 Statement of Purpose:
3333 To (1) require the presentation of photo identification at the polls in
3434 order to vote, and (2) establish a program for waiving the fee associated
3535 with obtaining, for voting purposes, a form of government-issued photo
3636 identification.
