AN ACT CONCERNING PHOTO IDENTIFICATION FOR VOTING 
PURPOSES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to (1) provide that, prior to 1 
receiving and being able to cast a ballot at the polling place, each elector 2 
shall present to the official checker or checkers a current and valid photo 3 
identification, which identification clearly displays such elector's name 4 
and residential address, and (2) establish a program for waiving the fee 5 
associated with obtaining, for voting purposes, a motor vehicle 6 
operator's license, identity card or other government-issued form of 7 
photo identification.  8 
Statement of Purpose:   
To (1) require the presentation of photo identification at the polls in 
order to vote, and (2) establish a program for waiving the fee associated 
with obtaining, for voting purposes, a form of government-issued photo 
identification.
