AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF PERMITTING THE
COMMUNITY SPOUSE OF AN INSTITUTIONALIZED MEDICAID
RECIPIENT TO RETAIN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF ALLOWABLE
ASSETS.
SUMMARY:
The bill requires the Department of Social Services (DSS) to examine
the cost and feasibility of allowing the community spouse of an
institutionalized individual to retain the maximum amount of assets
allowed under federal law, and report to the General Assembly by
January 1, 2022.
EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon passage
