1623 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

19-Section 1. (Effective from passage) Not later than January 1, 2022, the 1
20-Commissioner of Social Services shall submit a report, in accordance 2
21-with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint 3
22-standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of 4
23-matters relating to aging and appropriations and the budgets of state 5
24-agencies. Such report shall examine the cost and feasibility of permitting 6
25-a community spouse of an institutionalized spouse to retain the 7
26-maximum resource amount allowable for such community spouse 8
27-pursuant to 42 USC 1396r-5(f)(2). For purposes of this section, 9
28-"institutionalized spouse" and "community spouse" each have the same 10
29-meaning as provided in 42 USC 1396r-5(h).11

35+spouse pursuant to 42 USC 1396r-5(f)(2). 10
36+(c) The commissioner shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the 11
