Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 17b-59g of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from 2 passage): 3 (c) Any entity established or incorporated pursuant to subsection (b) 4 of this section shall have its powers vested in and exercised by a board 5 of directors. The board of directors shall be comprised of the following 6 members who shall each serve for a term of two years: 7 (1) One member who shall have expertise as an advocate for 8 consumers of health care, appointed by the Governor; 9 (2) One member who shall have expertise as a clinical medical doctor, 10 appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 11 (3) One member who shall have expertise in the area of hospital 12 administration, appointed by the speaker of the House of 13 Raised Bill No. 853 LCO 2677 {\\PRDFS1\SCOUSERS\FORZANOF\WS\2021SB-00853- R01-SB.docx } 2 of 2 Representatives; 14 (4) One member who shall have expertise in the area of corporate law 15 or finance, appointed by the minority leader of the Senate; 16 (5) One member who shall have expertise in group health insurance 17 coverage, appointed by the minority leader of the House of 18 Representatives; 19 (6) The Chief Information Officer and the Secretary of the Office of 20 Policy and Management, or their designees, who shall serve as ex-21 officio, voting members of the board; [and] 22 (7) The health information technology officer, designated in 23 accordance with section 19a-754a, who shall serve as chairperson of the 24 board; and 25 (8) The Commissioner of Social Services, or the commissioner's 26 designee, who shall serve as an ex-officio, voting member of the board. 27 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage 17b-59g(c) HS Joint Favorable
