AN ACT CONCERNING TH E USE OF MEDICAID, MEDICARE AND
TRICARE FUNDS TO PRO VIDE CERTAIN VETERANS WITH
TRANSPORTATION TO ME DICAL APPOINTMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2021) Notwithstanding any 1
provisions of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs 2
shall provide veterans who do not have transportation available with 3
transportation services to and from medical appointments and hospital 4
visits, which transportation services shall be paid from Medicaid, 5
Medicare and TriCare funds, to the extent permissible by federal law. 6
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To provide veterans who do not have access to transportation with
transportation services to and from medical appointments and hospital
visits.
