LCO No. 2613 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 898 January Session, 2021 LCO No. 2613 Referred to Committee on AGING Introduced by: (AGE) AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF MEDICAID-FUNDED PROGRAMS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Commissioner of Social 1 Services shall conduct a study of Medicaid-funded state programs 2 administered under Title XIX of the Social Security Act, as amended 3 from time to time. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, 4 a report on: (1) Factors the commissioner deems pertinent to quality of 5 care; (2) whether there are any gaps in access by eligible residents; and 6 (3) whether any Medicaid waivers should be sought to expand access to 7 medical assistance. 8 (b) Not later than July 1, 2022, the commissioner shall report the 9 results of the study, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a 10 of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General 11 Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to aging and human 12 services. Such report may include the commissioner's recommendations 13 for addressing any identified gaps in the provision of Medicaid-funded 14 state services and improving access to such services for senior citizens 15 Raised Bill No. 898 LCO No. 2613 2 of 2 and others. 16 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To study the efficacy of Medicaid-funded programs.
