AN ACT CONCERNING FE ES FOR CERTIFIED COPIES OF VITAL 
RECORDS SOUGHT IN CO NNECTION WITH THE SOLDIERS, 
SAILORS AND MARINES FUND. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 7-74 of the general statutes is 1 
repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 2 
1, 2021): 3 
(c) (1) The fee for one certified copy of a certificate of death for any 4 
deceased person who was a veteran, as defined in subsection (a) of 5 
section 27-103, shall be waived when such copy is requested by a 6 
spouse, child or parent of such deceased veteran. 7 
(2) The fee for a certified copy of any vital record shall be waived 8 
when such copy is requested by a person in connection with an 9 
application for aid from the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund, as 10 
established under section 27-138. 11  Raised Bill No.  916

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections: 
 
Section 1 October 1, 2021 7-74(c) 
 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require the waiver of fees charged for certified copies of vital records 
sought in connection with a person's application for aid from the 
Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Fund.
