AN ACT CONCERNING EM ISSIONS STANDARDS FO R MEDIUM AND 
HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. section 22a-174g of the general statutes is amended by 1 
adding subsection (c) as follows (Effective October 1, 2021): 2 
(NEW) (c) (1) On or before December 31, 2021, the Commissioner of 3 
Energy and Environmental Protection shall assess the energy, 4 
environmental and air quality impacts of adopting California's medium 5 
and heavy duty vehicle standards in Connecticut. 6 
(2) Pursuant to subdivision (1) of this subsection, if the commissioner 7 
deems such adoption necessary to meet federal air quality standards or 8 
state greenhouse gas reduction requirements, the commissioner may 9 
adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, to 10 
implement the medium and heavy duty motor vehicle standards of the 11 
state of California, and shall amend such regulations, from time to time, 12 
in accordance with changes to such standards. Such regulations may 13 
incorporate by reference the California motor vehicle standards 14 
established in final regulations issued by the California Air Resources 15  Raised Bill No.  931

Board pursuant to Title 13 of the California Code of Regulations and 16 
promulgated under the authority of Division 26 of the California Health 17 
and Safety Code, as may be amended from time to time. 18 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections: 
 
Section 1 October 1, 2021 New section

To evaluate the need to adopt California's medium and heavy duty 
vehicle emissions standards.
