| 27 | 26 | (NEW) (c) (1) On or before December 31, 2021, the Commissioner of 3 | |
| 28 | 27 | Energy and Environmental Protection shall assess the energy, 4 | |
| 29 | 28 | environmental and air quality impacts of adopting California's medium 5 | |
| 30 | 29 | and heavy duty vehicle standards in Connecticut. 6 | |
| 31 | 30 | (2) Pursuant to subdivision (1) of this subsection, if the commissioner 7 | |
| 32 | 31 | deems such adoption necessary to meet federal air quality standards or 8 | |
| 33 | 32 | state greenhouse gas reduction requirements, the commissioner may 9 | |
| 34 | 33 | adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, to 10 | |
| 35 | 34 | implement the medium and heavy duty motor vehicle standards of the 11 | |
