21	19		AN ACT CONCERNING CE RTIFICATES OF APPROV AL FOR MOTOR
22	20		VEHICLE DEALERSHIPS AND REPAIR SHOPS.
23	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
24	22		Assembly convened:

26	24		Section 1. Section 14-54 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
27	25		following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2021): 2
28	26		Any person who desires to obtain a license for dealing in or repairing 3
29	27		motor vehicles shall first obtain and present to the commissioner a 4
30	28		certificate of approval [of the location for which such license is desired 5
31	29		from the board or authority designated by local charter, regulation or 6
32	30		ordinance of the town, city or borough wherein the business is located 7
33	31		or is proposed to be located, except that in any town or city having a 8
34	32		zoning commission, combined planning and zoning commission and a 9
35	33		board of appeals, such certificate shall be approved by the board of 10
36	34		appeals] from the zoning enforcement official of the municipality where 11
37	35		such license is desired, affirming that the proposed location and use of 12
38	36		the property conform to the municipality's zoning regulations. In 13

47	44		apply to (1) a transfer of ownership to a spouse, child, brother, sister or 16
48	45		parent of a licensee, (2) a transfer of ownership to or from a corporation 17
49	46		in which a spouse, child, brother, sister or parent of a licensee has a 18
50	47		controlling interest, or (3) a change in ownership involving the 19
51	48		withdrawal of one or more partners from a partnership. 20
