1422 AN ACT PROHIBITING AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION
1523 FROM CONSIDERING LEGACY PREFERENCES IN THE ADMISSIONS

1725 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

20-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2022) (a) As used in this section, 1
21-"public institution of higher education" means the constituent units of 2
22-the state system of higher education identified in subdivisions (1) and 3
23-(2) of section 10a-1 of the general statutes. 4
24-(b) No public institution of higher education shall give preference to 5
25-an applicant for admission to such institution on the basis of the 6
26-applicant's familial relationship to a person who has graduated from 7
27-such institution. 8
