LCO No. 5981 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 6916 January Session, 2023 LCO No. 5981 Referred to Committee on JUDICIARY Introduced by: (JUD) AN ACT CONCERNING THE CORRECTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subsection (h) of Section 18-81jj of the general statutes is 1 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from 2 passage): 3 (h) (1) A majority of the voting members appointed to the Correction 4 Advisory Committee shall constitute a quorum, which shall be 5 necessary for the committee to conduct business. A majority vote of [the] 6 such members present shall be required for action of the committee. 7 (2) Any member of the committee shall be a nonvoting member 8 during any period of such member's employment by the Department of 9 Correction. 10 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage 18-81jj(h) Raised Bill No. 6916 LCO No. 5981 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require that any member of the Correction Advisory Committee who is employed by the Department of Correction while serving on said committee be a nonvoting member of said committee.
