AN ACT REQUIRING THE POLICE OFFICER STANDARDS AND 
TRAINING COUNCIL TO REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS 
REGARDING MANDATES ON LAW ENFORCEMENT UNITS AND 
OFFICERS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the Police Officer Standards and Training Council be required 1 
to review mandates on law enforcement units and law enforcement 2 
officers, and make recommendations to the General Assembly 3 
regarding any such mandates that are appropriate for repeal. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require the Police Officer Standards and Training Council to review 
and make recommendations regarding mandates on law enforcement 
units and officers, in order to alleviate unnecessary mandates and 
burdens on law enforcement.
